A leading European provider of services to rail operators, manufacturers, and local authorities, Akiem offers its 100 customers in 22 European countries a fleet of over 760 locomotives and 42 passenger vehicles, as well as solutions covering the entire rolling stock value chain.
Akiem runs a comprehensive, certified Entity in Charge of Maintenance (ECM) industrial ecosystem built around a pan-European network of workshops and extensive inventories of spare parts for the maintenance of the rolling stock supplied to its customers.
About the role
As part of our accelerating IT and digital transformation, we are hiring a Senior IT PMO / IT Portfolio Manager to strengthen governance, drive portfolio execution and support strategic programs.
This is a key role working closely with executive leadership, combining portfolio governance, transformation management, executive reporting and delivery oversight in an international industrial environment.
Key responsibilities
IT Portfolio & Governance
Structure and manage the IT project portfolio (PPM)
Define governance standards, project lifecycle and decision frameworks
Ensure alignment between priorities, budget and resources
Manage prioritization, dependencies and risks
IT Governance & Internal Control
Strengthen governance and internal control practices
Contribute to frameworks (e.g. COBIT) and audit readiness
Track action plans, IT risks and compliance
Executive Reporting
Prepare materials for Executive Committee, Steering Committees and Audit & Risk
Consolidate KPIs, risks, financials and project status
Deliver clear, decision-oriented reporting
Strategic Program Support
Act as PMO lead on key transformation programs
Coordinate internal teams, business stakeholders and partners
Ensure governance discipline and continuous improvement
Financial & Vendor Management
Support IT budget monitoring and portfolio financial tracking
Consolidate forecasts and resource allocation
Contribute to vendor governance
Profile
Experience
10+ years in PMO, IT governance or large-scale program management
Strong exposure to structured environments (governance, audit, transformation)
Experience working with senior stakeholders
Industrial / infrastructure environment is a plus

PMO methodologies and program steering
Executive reporting & strong synthesis skills
Risk management, audit and internal controls
Budget tracking & cross-functional coordination
Nice to have
COBIT or similar frameworks
IT audit, cybersecurity or regulated environments
Soft skills
Structured and delivery-oriented
Strong strategic mindset with operational rigor
Excellent communication and stakeholder management
Pragmatic, hands-on and able to challenge constructively
Education & languages
Master’s degree (Engineering, IT, Business…)
Certifications (PMP, Prince2, COBIT…) are a plus
Fluent English required (French is a plus)
