IT Project Manager M/F
A leading European provider of services to rail operators, manufacturers, and local authorities, Akiem offers its 100 customers in 22 European countries a fleet of over 760 locomotives and 42 passenger vehicles, as well as solutions covering the entire rolling stock value chain.
Akiem runs a comprehensive, certified Entity in Charge of Maintenance (ECM) industrial ecosystem built around a pan-European network of workshops and extensive inventories of spare parts for the maintenance of the rolling stock supplied to its customers.
To support the growth of its operational maintenance activity and the development of its information system, AKIEM Group is strengthening its IS Project Management team and hiring an IS Project Manager, reporting to the Head of IT Applications & Digital.
You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of business applications, with a strong focus on digital and data solutions (customer portal, IoT data, CRM, etc.). You will play a key role in coordinating, analyzing, developing, implementing, and supporting information systems across the Group, working closely with all AKIEM departments in France and Germany.
Main Responsibilities
1. Application Management & Development
- Manage and optimize a set of digital business applications (customer portal, IoT data, CRM...).
- Identify system enhancements to improve business efficiency and process control.
- Define and develop interfaces between systems.
- Ensure proper documentation, processes, training, and support within the business.
2. User Support & Business Partnering
- Act as the main contact for Key Users and business processes (ERP, BI, CMMS, SOP, etc.).
- Promote digital innovation and propose technical solutions to meet business needs.
- Plan and implement functional changes, configurations, or minor developments.
- Act as the Group’s Data Expert / Data Champion.
3. IT Project Management
- Support the business in defining requirements and producing functional specifications.
- Coordinate planning, organization, and execution of project activities.
- Manage project budgets, costs, suppliers, and integrators.
- Oversee testing (UAT), deployment, and change management.
- Ensure process compliance, sign-offs, and project stage gates.
4. Communication & Coordination
- Communicate project progress and process changes to business stakeholders.
- Prioritize incoming requests within your application perimeter.
- Act as an internal consultant, providing value-added tools and solutions.
- Work closely with cross-country IT teams (France / Germany).
5. Local IS Back-Up
- Provide basic troubleshooting for network/firewall/PC issues when the local IT support referent is absent (whenever possible).
Profile and experience
- Master’s degree or equivalent
- Experience in the management of IT projects (ITIL, SCRUM, etc.)
- More than 3 years’ experience in an equivalent position is necessary
- English and French are essential, German would be a plus
