Akiem, a leading European rolling stock lessor, is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Commercial & Financial Support to join our small, dedicated team focused on developing our activities and expanding our portfolio of passenger train leases.
We are looking for a committed Junior Business Analyst (m/f/d) to support our Finance department on a temporary basis.The position is available as part of a 6-month internship in France or alternatively as a VIE (Volontariat International en Entreprise) for 12 to 18 months in Germany.
Based in either Saint-Ouen (Paris area) or Berlin, you will support bid preparation, financial modelling, and market research—particularly in the French and German rail sectors. The role offers valuable exposure to infrastructure investment and commercial strategy in a dynamic, international environment.
YOUR TASKS
- Support the Bid Team in sourcing and preparing proposals for operating lease solutions for passenger rail vehicles in Europe.
- Assist in building and maintaining Excel-based financial models for rail vehicle leasing projects.
- Support the preparation of cash flow forecasts, lease pricing calculations, and profitability analyses.
- Conduct sensitivity and scenario analyses to assess economic risks and opportunities.
- Contribute to market research activities, particularly in the French and German rail and leasing sectors (e.g. competitor analysis, customer trends, regulatory developments).
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g. Sales, Asset Management, Structured Finance) to gather relevant information and validate assumptions.
- Help prepare presentations and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support ad hoc analysis and reporting tasks for both finance and commercial teams.
YOUR PROFILE
- Bachelor’s degree completed or currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel; prior exposure to financial modelling is an advantage.
- Interest in infrastructure investment and financial structuring; familiarity with the rail or broader transportation sector is a plus.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in French is highly desirable, and German is a plus.
